TORONTO - On Monday, October 2nd, the OPFFA hosted a fundraiser in support of the Runnymede Health Centre's new Post-Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI) Centre of Excellence for First Responders.

This PTSI Centre of Excellence will provide First Responders with the necessary resources and support and access to a full spectrum of care from assessment and diagnosis to prevention, treatment, post-treatment and return to work services.  The centre will have two main sites: Station 3434 in Toronto and the Caledon Recovery Centre in Peel Region. Both will offer a full continuum of care from prevention to intensive treatment and return-to-work programming.  These new purpose-built facilities will create welcoming, supportive environments where clients will seek and receive wellness and rehabilitative therapy in dealing with PTSI and associated concurrent mental health disorders and foster connection with peers.
